Coacoa is a very sweet, slightly shy 3.5 year old, 45 pound female Shar Pei mix (50% Shar Pei, 25% Am Staffordshire Terrier, and 25% Bulldog/Chesapeake Bay Retriever). She is healthy and has been spayed/ vetted. Due to a "legal battle” (related to a child custody disagreement), she was surrendered by a gentleman who was her loving owner since she was a puppy.
Coacoa had pretty much shut down immediately after her owner left and became very depressed. It took the shelter staff and volunteers a bit of time to get her to open her broken heart to new humans. Now she is giving out doggie kisses! Coacoa walks well on a leash, takes treats very gently, and has no reported behavior issues from her previous owner. Although Coacoa is a volunteer favorite she has gotten overlooked, time and time again, by potential adopters because she tends to bark when kenneled; not understanding why she isn’t just able to hang out with you.
